| 🎃 Fall Fest Was a Spooktacular Success! Our 2nd Annual Fall Fest was a huge success! Thank you for your flexibility with the postponement and weather. We were rewarded with a beautiful night of fall fun, festive costumes, and Halloween spirit! We welcomed 600+ Trunk or Treaters and their families and handed out 30,000 pieces of candy! With so many amazing creations, the best trunk competition was fierce. Congratulations to the McElhenney family for winning Best Trunk, Landon Muthard for guessing the pumpkin’s weight, and Bryce Elko, our Pumpkin Chunkin’ champion! A huge thank you to our generous sponsors, volunteers, trunk hosts, and to everyone who helped make this event possible. We couldn’t have done it without you! 🦁🍂👻 — Fall Fest Committee, c/o Megan Wilson, Kim Granato, & Jackie Iannacone | fallfest@lynnewoodpto.org

| Veterans Day at Lynnewood - Next Friday! On Friday, November 6th at 9:15 AM, Lynnewood will honor our veterans with a special “Bring a Veteran to School” celebration! Lions are invited to bring a veteran to share their experiences and be recognized for their service. Due to limited space, only veteran guests may attend. Light refreshments will be provided by the PTO. Please RSVP here if your veteran plans to attend. We'd also love for our Lynnewood Lions to share their family's military stories! Students can interview a veteran (or ask family members for help) and complete the linked template with a photo to be displayed at school. Please return these to your child's teacher by Monday, November 2nd. Photos can also be emailed to Mrs. Giordano. Can't attend in person? Veterans are welcome to share their experiences through a short video or classroom Zoom visit! Please contact your child's teacher by Monday, November 2nd to arrange either option. Questions? | Young Writer's Day – Friday, November 20th! We can't wait for this year's Young Writer's Day on Friday, November 20th! It is one of our favorite events of the year. What is Young Writer's Day? It's a day where all Lynnewood students are visited by one or two local authors! The authors talk about their craft, how they get their ideas, what the process of writing and publishing is like, and answer student questions! How Can I Help? The PTO coordinates several essential parts of the day: Author & Staff Luncheon Food: We are excited to provide a luncheon for approximately 140 visiting authors and staff members! We need main dishes, side dishes, desserts, paper products, and drinks (clearances not required for food drop-offs): Entree ideas: Quiche, baked ziti, pulled pork sandwiches, meatball sandwiches, casseroles, mac and cheese, make-your-own taco supplies, chili, tomato pie, flatbreads Side dish ideas: Deviled eggs, fruit salad, charcuterie, veggie tray, Caesar salad, pasta salad, potato salad Dessert ideas: Brownies, cookies, pound cake slices, cupcakes, fresh fruit
Author Escorts: Each author is assigned a parent escort. The escort receives a bio about the author in advance, guides them from classroom to classroom throughout the day, and accompanies them to the luncheon. Luncheon Setup & Cleanup: Help set up tables and food stations before the luncheon and assist with cleanup afterward.
Clearances are required for all in-school volunteer opportunities. Sign up here for Young Writer's Day food donations, escorts, and luncheon helpers! — Volunteer Committee, c/o Allison Fineberg & Team | volunteers@lynnewoodpto.org |
